Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film best known for her performances in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the sole one child to Romanian actors Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into the show business at an early age and was performing lead roles in various shows on television by the time she turned 16. The critically acclaimed character she played in the show Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy role like Adolf's secretary, Traudljunge, in Downfall. Downfall won an Oscar and was praised by critics. Additional Oscar nominated films featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. In the past, Alexandra has worked in several notable international and national projects. For instance, the British biographical feature Control, the Greek drama The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon are among the many. Also, she was on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
